THE LOST 6 SECONDS
Visualizing the "Lost Six Seconds": Subverting Emotional Conformity in Modern Society.
When anger strikes, human emotion manifests most intensely within the first six seconds. In modern society, however, we are conditioned to instantly suppress and flatten that raw impulse.
What I paint are portraits of these "Lost Six Seconds"—the visceral moments that people are forced to swallow.
Enclosed within the iconic outlines of the figures are textures of intense, displaced emotions. Yet, the layers of paint possess no thickness at all; they are completely flat. This tension reflects the very structure of contemporary society, which crushes even the most vehement heat into submission, while simultaneously giving form to the undeniable human breath that survives beneath the surface.
感情を整えることが要求される社会の中で、
失われた最初の6秒間を可視化する。
怒りが生まれた瞬間、人の感情は最初の6秒間に最も強く現れる。しかし現代社会では、その衝動は抑制され、平坦に整えられることが求められる。
わたしが描くのは、人々が飲み込んできた「失われた6秒間」のポートレートである。
アイコニックな輪郭の内側には、行き場のない激しい感情のテクスチャが封じ込められている。しかし、その絵の具の層には一切の厚みがなく、完全にフラット（平坦）である。激しい熱量さえも平らに押し潰してしまう現代社会の構造と、その奥で確かに生きている人間の息遣いを表現した。
